I feel like I need to preface this post by saying that choosing the selection of images to show this day was incredibly difficult, as it was *perfect* in all the best ways, and no better couple to start my blogging journey off with. Their entire gallery was 1600 images shot over 9 hours, and every moment was genuine bliss, with happiness radiating with Megan and Brandon at the centre of it. Enjoy!

Megan and Brandon’s wedding day at The Walper Hotel in downtown Kitchener felt like stepping into something timeless—an effortless blend of elegance, history, and deeply personal connection. On a bright summer day, they chose to celebrate their marriage in a place already woven into Megan’s family story, as her parents had been married there, and they were so excited to celebrate in a space that held so much meaning. That sense of legacy added a quiet, meaningful layer to an already special day.
From the very beginning, their wedding felt so intentional. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, yet nothing overshadowed what mattered most—their connection to each other. There was an excited yet grounded energy between them that carried through the entire day. They took the time to pause, to be present, to really feel each moment together. It's easy to get swept away in the chaos of the day, thinking about expectations and timelines, but Megan and Brandon were locked in on why they were there. It’s rare, and it’s powerful—and it’s exactly what made their photos feel so natural and effortless.
Their first look took place in the courtyard, tucked away from everything else. After photographing the initial reveal, it was just the two of them, sharing private vows they had written for each other. I photographed from a window ledge a few floors above, intentionally giving them space while still documenting it quietly. There was something incredibly intimate about witnessing it from afar—both of them emotional, gently wiping away tears as they read. It felt less like a staged moment and more like something sacred. In many ways, their day carried the intimacy of an elopement, even within the structure of a full wedding celebration.
Megan’s gown was a standout in the most understated way—full lace, timeless, and reminiscent of another era. It brought to mind the classic elegance of Grace Kelly, echoing the iconic bridal imagery that never fades with time. Paired with the historic charm of the venue, the overall aesthetic felt refined yet so deeply personal.
After doing a walk-through of the space the night before—and already having photographed their engagement session—I was able to move through their wedding with a sense of familiarity and ease, using all the unique spaces that the iconic Walper has to offer. I captured their story on both digital and 35mm film, which added a beautiful, nostalgic texture that complemented the emotion and atmosphere of the day perfectly. Getting to know Brandon and Megan was such a pleasure, and I loved witnessing their day. From quiet in-between moments to joyful celebrations with their closest people, Megan and Brandon’s wedding was a reflection of what matters most: choosing each other, fully and intentionally.
